Counsel’s fees
My fees as counsel can be on an hourly, daily, or fixed fee basis, depending on the case and the jurisdiction, and the stage of the proceedings. My fees will always be competitive and good value. Please contact my clerk Foley’s List on 03 9225 7777 to discuss my fees for advice and appearance work.

Franchising mediations
If chosen by the parties to a franchise dispute that has been referred to the Office of Franchising Mediation Adviser (OFMA) via the office of the Australian Small Business & Family Enterprise Ombudsman (ASBFEO), my fees are capped at $300 per hour plus GST, which is very good value for mediation of what can be legally complex commercial disputes.
ASBFEO Act mediations
Fees for mediations I conduct pursuant to the ASBFEO Act are in accordance with the ADR Provider agreement with the ASBFEO.
VSBC mediations
Mediator fees are subsidised by the VSBC, with the parties each making a small contribution towards the total mediator fees. Mediation via the VSBC represents excellent value for small businesses.
Private appointment or court ordered mediations
I typically mediate matters that take more than half a day. charge on a half day and full day (up to 9 hours) basis.
My typical fee for private or court appointed mediation is between $4,000 and $5,000 shared between the parties. I often will agree to include preparation and administration time in a fixed fee, if that seems appropriate, on a case by case basis.
Please contact me to discuss the value and enthusiasm that I bring to mediation and the fees that I would charge for a particular case.
